update to the update

I could just cry! You all are so thoughtful, loving and generous! We have been given $355 to buy donations for Mahelet's orphanage (remember Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries in the world with an average income of $108 according to BBC).  Yesterday one of my sweet patients and friend brought us 50 bags for the kids filled with candy, crayons and toys. Tonight a dear friend brought over bubbles, crayons, coloring books and formula for the kids. The guitar should be here tomorrow!  And some balls and a pump are on there way from Coffeyville, KS. WOW!
that's all the words I have WOW and THANK YOU!!

Hi! congrats on the adoption of little Mahelet. she looks beautiful and it looks like yall are close to actually seeing her. how beyond exciting. actually, the name kelty for us came from a struggle we had with my husband's parents who did not want to let go and let him be the man God called him to be instead of the person they had envisioned their son being. kelty is celtic and it means literally, "the woods". so for us, it represents our desire to release her to be who God has uniquely designed and called her to be, even if it is "off the beaten path" --from others or even for our own ideas for her future. it is a reminder of us as parents to let go, and let God take charge of her heart and her future, instead of pressing too hard or trying to control her. that's a bit long, but of course you can use it if you feel lead. i love that it is pretty original--we've only heard of one other kelty thus far--now maybe two! (we think its funny too b/c there's the backpacking company called 'kelty" and we like to say that all the packs we have by that company are monogrammed just for her benefit. ha ha)
